PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION INTO PHARMACY COURSES

B.PHARMACY & PHARM.D

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm):

· Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of the intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana as equivalent there to. 

· Candidates should have completed 16 years of age by the date of commencement of admission or on such other date as may be notified by the CET committee. There is no upper age limit.

Eligibility Criteria for Pharm. D (Pharm.D)

· Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana or any other examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana as equivalent thereto or should have passed or appeared at the final year of the diploma examination in pharmacy course conducted by the Andhra Pradesh / Telangana State Board of Technical Education and Training or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh /Telangana.

· Candidate should obtain at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belongs to reserved category) in the subjects specified taken together in the qualifying examination. iii. The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission (2021) to the above course.

B.Pharm & Pharm.D Admission Process:

· The candidates are informed to note that if the certificates were already verified through web services from the respective board/agencies based on the information furnished by the candidate while applying for EAPCET i.e., Common Entrance Test. i.e., the candidates whose certificate data is already verified online through web services, they are directed pay the processing fee cum registration and can verify the details of candidate (personal, academic and other details) for the correctness. If the candidates are satisfied for data available, they need not upload any certificates. Further they are directed to proceed for exercise options as per the schedule.

· The candidates whose certificate data is already verified through web services but candidate wishes to change the data, then candidate has to upload relevant certificates for online verification. After the verification of data by online by the verification officers, then the candidates have to ascertain the status of eligibility by using verification status link. If they are eligible, they can proceed for exercise options as per the schedule. If case any clarification, they can visit nearest Help Line Centre.

· In respect of candidates whose data is not verified, such candidates have to upload documents for online verification by choosing notified HLCs. After the verification of data by online by the verification officers, then the candidates have to ascertain the status of eligibility by using verification status link. If they are eligible, they can proceed for exercise options as per the schedule. If case any clarification, they can visit nearest Help Line Centre.

Certificates to be verified:

The candidates are requested to keep the following certificates before proceeding for Online Web Counselling. 

All original Certificates and two sets of Xerox copies 

1) APEAPCET- Rank card. 

2) APEAPCET- Hall Ticket. 

3) Memorandum of Marks (Inter or its equivalent). 

4) Proof of Date of Birth (SSC or its Equivalent Memo). 

5) Transfer Certificate (T.C) 

6) Study Certificate from VI to Intermediate 

7) EWS certificate valid for the current year from Mee Seva for OC candidates who want to claim reservation under EWS category 

8) Residence certificate for preceding 7 years of the Qualifying examination i.e., Inter or its equivalent in respect of Private candidates.

9) Andhra Pradesh Residence Certificate of father/mother for a period of 10 years excluding the period of employment outside Andhra Pradesh from Tahsildar in respect of Non-Local Candidates. 

10) Integrated Community Certificate, in case of BC/ST/SC issued by the competent authority. 

11) Income certificate of parents from all sources issued on or after 01.01.2019 or White Ration card (candidate name and either of the parent’s name have to be reflected in the ration card) those who claim tuition fee reimbursement) 

12) Local status certificate (if applicable) i.e. a candidate who migrates to any part of the state of Andhra Pradesh from the state of Telangana from 02-June-2014 to on/before 01-June-2022 shall be regarded as the local candidate in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Reservation seats: The reservations in admissions are as per the State Government Reservation policy.

Convenor (General) Quota: Category-A: Any seats remaining after EAPCET counselling shall be filled by the colleges through spot admission procedure according to the rules prescribed by the State Government.

Management Quota: Category- B: The Management Seats (Category-B) are filled by the Management as per the schedule and rules prescribed by the State Government.

B. Pharmacy Admission Process (Lateral Entry):

o Candidates who have not taken admission so far are only eligible. Candidates shall not be allowed for spot admission without verifying original certificates. 

o The vacancies are to be filled first with those qualified in APECET-2022 and possessing 45% and above for OC and 40% and above for (BC/SC/ST) in the relevant Diploma/B.Sc. Examination. 

o If the vacancies are still left, Candidates who have passed Diploma/B.Sc. Examination with 45% and above (OC), 40% and above (BC/SC/ST) are to be considered. 

o Candidates who satisfy the definition of Local/Non-Local shall alone be granted admission. 

o Candidates whose diploma is from other state but either of the parents resided for a period of 10 years in A.P / Telangana state are eligible for Spot Admissions. 

o Candidates possessing Diploma Certificates other than those issued by the State Board of Technical Education, A.P. shall be asked to get the equivalency certificate from A.P. SBTET Vijayawada before granting admission.

Certificates to be verified: 

· SSC

· Diploma/B.Sc. Marks Memorandums of 3 Years, CMM and PC

· Residence Certificate. 

· AP-ECET-Rank Card, if qualified

· AP-ECET- Hall Ticket, if qualified

· Caste Certificate.

· Transfer certificate

· EWS certificate, If applicable

M.PHARMACY

To be eligible for Master of Pharmacy course, the students must have a minimum of 50% or equivalent CGPA in their Bachelor of Pharmacy or B. Pharmacy course from a recognized university or college from PCI (Pharmacy Council of India)

Popular entrance exams for M. Pharma are:

  • GPAT
  • NIPER Exam
  • APPGECET Pharmacy
  • BITS HD Pharmacy
  • AIPSSCET

M.Pharm Admission Process 

Convenor (General) Quota: Category -A:

For admission to M. Pharm, the State Government conducts an entrance exam called PGECET every year in the month of May/ June. The students are given ranking based on the marks obtained in PGECET. Admissions are done by means of web counselling, based on the rank obtained in GPAT and for the remaining seats based on the PGECET rank. Students can choose the course specialisation and college.
70% of seats are filled through the GPAT and PGECET ranks by the Convenor and 30% seats are filled by the management, based on the merit at PGECET / B. Pharm as per the State Government prescribed rules from time to time. 

Reservation seats: The reservation in admissions is as per the State Government Reservation policy.

Category B:

· The institutions that are approved by AICTE/PCI and permitted to fill NRI seats of the sanctioned intake in each course for the academic year shall admit NRI candidates (sons and daughters of NRIs) who have passed the qualifying examination with not less than 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) equivalent to 5 on a scale of 10. 

· The remaining seats shall be filled on merit basis with the candidates who have secured all India rank in GATE/GPAT-2022 and secured not less than 50% of marks in the qualifying examination. 

· The seats remaining unfilled from (2) and (3) above shall be filled with eligible candidates, who have qualified in the APPGECET-2022 examination on merit basis following eligibility criteria laid in the GO concerned. 

· Thereafter, if any seats still remain unfilled, such seats may be filled on merit basis with candidates securing not less than 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) of aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, as prescribed, under A.P. Presidential Order 1974. 

· Any vacant seats, after filling up of all seats under AP Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order 1974, as subsequently amended, shall be filled as per the instructions issued by the Competent Authority from time to time. 

M.Pharm Admission Process (SPOT Admissions)

· The vacancies are to be filled first with those qualified in GATE-2022/GPAT-2022 followed by PGECET-2022 and possessing 50% and above for OC and 45% and above for BC/SC/ST in the relevant qualifying examination. 

· If the vacancies are still left, Candidates who have passed the qualifying Examination with 50 % and above for OC, 45% and above for BC/SC/ST are to be considered. 

· Candidates possessing the qualifying examination certificate from an AICTE/PCI approved institution shall alone be considered for admission. 

Certificates to be Verified:

1) Qualifying examination marks memo and provisional pass certificate 

2) Eligibility for admission into a branch shall be as per the affiliating university concerned 

3) Residence certificate. 

4) GATE/ GPAT / pgecet-2022 rank card, if qualified 

5) GATE / GPAT / pgecet-2022 hall ticket, if qualified 

6) Caste certificate 

7) Aadhar Card / any govt id 

D.PHARMACY

Eligibility Criteria for D. Pharm:

D Pharmacy Admission is done based on either merit or an entrance exam. To be eligible for the Diploma in Pharmacy course, candidates must have passed their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. They must be from the Science Stream to pursue the D Pharmacy course. 

  • Eligibility: Pass in intermediate (Bi.P.C. or M.P.C.) or 12 years Higher Secondary Education Board Exam of CBSC, ICSE.
  • Candidates should be of Indian Nationality and shall either be a Local or Non-Local candidate defined in A.P. Education Institution (Regulation of Admission) Rules, 1974.
  • Intermediate (MPC/BPC), 12 years Higher Secondary Education Board Exam of CBSE, ICSE. (Regular stream only).
  • Qualifications obtained from Open Schools of any State /National Open Schools under sub-regulation (5) of Regulation 5 of Education Regulations, 1991 are eligible for admission to D. Pharm course vide reference no: Ref.No.14-2/2006-PCI-5763-6337, dated 13.6.2007 of the PCI, New Delhi.

Not Eligible: As per the PCI, New Delhi circular no. 12-2/2012/PCI/52023, dt: 17-07-2012, Intermediate vocational course in MLT (Medical Lab Technician) & with or without bridge course is not an approved qualification for admission to Diploma course in Pharmacy under regulation 5 of Education Regulations, 1991 framed u/s 10 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

D. Pharm Admission Process:

  • The available seats in each Institution shall be distributed equally among MPC and BPC students. If sufficient numbers of candidates are not available in MPC stream, such seats may be filled with BPC stream candidates and vice versa.
  • Admission will be done based on the merit of marks obtained in Optional subjects of MPC or BPC out of 600 in Intermediate examination or its equivalent, as the case may be.
  • In case of candidates, who passed with CBSE, ICSE or other equivalent 10+2 years duration courses, the maximum marks should be raised/reduced to 600 in optional subjects of MPC or BPC and the total marks to 1000 (Languages + Optional) and the marks obtained by the candidates should be calculated for deciding merit. MBPC candidates of CBSE shall be considered for both BPC and MPC streams.

Certificates to be Verified:

  • Marks Memo of the qualifying examination and the Pass Certificate.
  • Date of Birth Certificate (SSC Marks Memo).
  • Study certificate, giving details of study from the first appearance of the qualifying examination or its equivalent for preceding 07 years, i.e., from Intermediate or its equivalent to VI class.
  • In case of private study (without Institutional Education), a Residence Certificate from M.R.O of the local area, concerned, shall be produced for preceding 07 years of the qualifying examination.
  • A Residence Certificate either of the parent (excluding the period of their employment outside Andhra Pradesh) issued by MRO for a period of not less than (10) years residence in Andhra Pradesh in respect of the candidates claiming Non-Local Status. (preferably from Mee SEVA).
  • Candidate seeking under SC/ST/BC quota should submit Integrated Community Certificate issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer/ Revenue Divisional Officer, as the case may be, and the certificates are subject to Verification by the Director of S.C Welfare/ Director of BC Welfare Department. (preferably from Mee SEVA).
  • Candidate seeking reservation under Physically Handicapped category shall submit relevant certificate issued by the State and District Medical Boards, constituted by the Government.
  • Candidates seeking admission under “Children of Armed Personnel (CAP)” category shall submit the following, which are subjected to scrutiny by the Andhra Pradesh/TS Sainik Welfare Board or its nominee, and its decision is final to consider him or her for admission under “CAP” category.
  • (a) The children of Ex-Servicemen and Servicemen residing in the State of Andhra Pradesh/TS shall submit a residence certificate signed by the M.R.O for a period of not less than 05 years.
  • (b) The Candidate should submit a certificate of his/her parent from Zilla Sainik Welfare Office/Board with regard to the eligibility to consider him/her under CAP category (Servicemen/Ex-Servicemen) to which the applicant belongs with attested copies of the documentary evidence for claim, viz., discharge certificate, pension payment order etc.
  • Candidate claiming admission under Sports category shall submit all the relevant Games & Sports participation certificates, which are subject to verification by Sports Authority of TS/Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) or its nominee.
  • Candidate claiming admission under NCC category shall submit the relevant certificates, which are subject to verification by the Director of NCC, TS., Hyderabad or its nominee.
  • A copy of the Aadhaar Card.
  • Any other document as deemed necessary by the Help-Line Centre.

             The decision of Admission Officer in accepting the application of the candidate is final and no correspondence will be made in this regard.
