About the Academic Council
As part of its commitment to academic excellence and governance, Swathi College of Pharmacy (SCPN) has constituted the following Academic Council in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Academic Council serves as the principal academic body of the institution, responsible for upholding and enhancing academic standards, formulating policies, and ensuring effective curriculum implementation.
Objectives & Roles and Responsibilities
Objectives of the Academic Council: The primary objectives of the Academic Council include:
- Establishing and maintaining high academic standards.
- Reviewing and approving academic programs, syllabi, and courses.
- Ensuring quality assurance in teaching, learning, and research.
- Promoting interdisciplinary and industry-relevant education.
- Facilitating student-centric learning initiatives.
- Overseeing the conduct of examinations and assessments.
- Recommending strategies for faculty development.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Academic Council shall:
- Formulate and revise the curriculum as per industry trends and regulatory requirements.
- Approve new programs and courses in alignment with the Institution Development Plan (IDP).
- Implement and monitor academic policies for student progression.
- Oversee research initiatives and collaborations.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines set by UGC, AICTE, and affiliating universities.
- Address academic grievances and suggest improvements.
- Recommend scholarships, fellowships, studentships, and awards.

Activites
Meetings and Proceedings:
- The Academic Council shall meet at least twice a year.
- Special meetings may be convened as per institutional requirements.
- The decisions taken in the meetings shall be documented and implemented by the concerned departments.
